Grace and Braxton’s wedding at Southall Meadows in Franklin, Tennessee was rooted in contrast—bringing together the softness of a garden-inspired aesthetic with touches of more modern, sculptural elements. Grace was drawn to both worlds: romantic, airy blooms and more architectural, unconventional varieties. The goal was to find a way to merge those two styles into something that felt cohesive, intentional, and distinctly her.

The floral design began with a layered palette of blush, cream, dusty rose, and mauve, grounded by deeper notes of burgundy and pops of chartreuse green. Soft, classic blooms like roses, sweet peas, lisianthus, and campanula created a gardeny foundation, while more distinctive elements—foxglove, bells of Ireland, amaranthus, and pitcher plant—added movement and structure. Locally grown sweet peas, foxglove, and agrostemma brought an especially delicate, seasonal quality to the designs. 

The ceremony took place in an open meadow beneath a sprawling tree, framed by two large-scale urn arrangements designed to be lush and organic with a touch of sculptural shape, that anchored the space without distracting from the landscape. That same balance carried into the reception, where ikebana-inspired arrangements brought a more architectural edge to the tables while still incorporating softness.

Grace’s bouquet became a defining moment in the design process. As the bouquet took shape, it became clear to me that a lighter, more delicate approach felt more aligned with her and the overall vision for the day. So I decided to forgo some of the more trend-forward elements. By removing anything that felt unnecessary and leaning into a classic, garden-inspired composition—with just a few unexpected blooms woven in—the final bouquet felt timeless, personal, and quietly distinctive.

 The result was a wedding that held both beauty and nuance—layered, expressive, and deeply reflective of the couple it was created for.
