Kate and Zak’s wedding at CJ’s Off the Square in Franklin, Tennessee was a study in restraint—minimal, modern, and quietly striking. Kate was drawn to a paired-down palette of white and green, with subtle pops of dusty rose and mauve reserved for the personal florals. From the beginning, she was less interested in traditional arrangements and more inspired by unique, sculptural blooms like calla lilies, anthurium, and allium. The goal was to create something that felt editorial and intentional—clean, elevated, and considered, without feeling overdone.

The floral design leaned into that vision through simplicity and structure. Rather than layering in a wide variety of blooms, the focus stayed on a few key elements with sleek, architectural shapes. Moss became a grounding texture throughout the design, softening the modern lines and adding depth. 

The reception tables were styled with ikebana-inspired arrangements—an approach rooted in Japanese floral design that emphasizes balance, negative space, and intentional placement. Paired with a moss runner, the result felt minimal yet expressive, proving that restraint can still create a compelling visual experience.

For the ceremony, two urn arrangements of cascading tulips and calla lilies framed the altar, offering a soft, organic contrast to the more structured design elements. Calla lily and ivory ribbon aisle markers added another understated, elegant touch to the ceremony space.

The personal florals were where the design took its most distinctive turn. Instead of a traditional bouquet, Kate carried a custom calla lily “purse,” designed the morning of the wedding to ensure the blooms remained at their freshest. Subtle details like curling garlic scapes added movement and an unexpected edge, transforming the piece into something that felt more like wearable art than a bouquet. Her bridesmaids wore delicate floral wristlets—another intentional departure from tradition—designed to feel like a chic fashion accessory.
